Present brick building was constructed in 1852. Bricks for the church were hauled from the Cherrywood brickyard. Church remains today as a reminder of the hard work and influence of the Mennonite congregation in the development of the community. In 1990, the interior of the building and cemetery were further designated as being of heritage significance.

The Bloomers and Britches is made up of a hardy band of gardeners who work in the gardens of the museum village Tuesday or Saturday morning from May till October. As well as hands-on gardening, the club researches, plans, and plans the heritage plants. There are 2 full group Saturday sessions, one in May, “Turnover”, and one in October, “Turnunder” when the members gather together to open and close the gardening season.

The house is circa 1840 and still contains the basement and its old enormous apple and vegetable bins. The house is a 1-1/2 storey house with a large rear addition with gables perpendicular to the original and a further shed roofed addition to the rear. |

If you enjoyed dressing dolls as a child, imagine the fun you’ll have costuming real people in styles ranging from the era of Jane Austen to WWI. PMV relies on the talents of those creative individuals who can wield scissors, a needle and thread and perhaps even a (modern) sewing machine!
This committee meets every Tuesday morning through the winter to work on mending, costume construction, and collection inventory. Periodically, sewing “bees” are held to work on projects for a whole day.

Thistle Ha’ is a farm settled by Scottish immigrant John Miller in 1839. Miller and his descendants were renowned importers and breeders of purebred livestock, particularly Shorthorn cattle, Clydesdale horses, and Shropshire sheep. Their contribution to Canadian agriculture was recognized when Thistle Ha’ was named a National Historic Site of Canada in 1973, and a Province of Ontario Heritage Property in 1977. Thistle Ha' is now owned and operated by the fourth generation of Millers in Canada. |

The Whitevale Heritage Conservation District was established to ensure the
preservation and enhancement of the special character of Whitevale. It is

architecture combined with Victorian influences and materials in common
usage at the time of construction. |
